Chelmsford’s North Avenue Youth Centre is celebrating a proud moment as its manager, Charlie Newton, has been recognised in the 2025 World Youth Clubs Promise Awards Nominee in the Club Professional of the Year category.
The World Youth Clubs (WYC) Promise Awards are an international celebration of excellence in youth work. Now in their fifth year, the awards spotlight individuals and organisations who demonstrate exceptional dedication to empowering young people, supporting volunteers, and strengthening communities.
Although Charlie was not selected as one of this year’s winners, her nomination which was submitted by Essex Boys and Girls Clubs stands as a powerful testament to the impact she has made locally and within the wider youth work community.
The NAYC Chair said “We are incredibly proud that Charlie has been recognised as a 2025 World Youth Clubs Promise Awards Nominee, it reflects her unwavering commitment to creating brighter futures for young people in our community.”
Charlie herself shared her gratitude by saying “I’m truly honoured to have been nominated. This recognition is really a celebration of the amazing young people, volunteers, and staff I’m lucky enough to work with every day. Together we aim to create a community where every young person feels valued, supported and connected.”
